Assembly & Installation Policy

Outdoor power equipment and storage sheds ship partly assembled to keep them safe in transit and to keep freight costs down. This page tells you what arrives ready to use, what you need to do before first use, and what Peaulon does and does not do on the installation side.

What Arrives Assembled

Not Included With Your Order

Federal transport regulations prohibit shipping engines with fuel, and most manufacturers ship engines dry. Have these ready before the delivery arrives:

  • Engine oil of the grade named in the manual, usually SAE 30 or 10W-30, and a funnel.
  • Fresh gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol, in an approved container.
  • A garden hose rated for the inlet pressure, for pressure washers.
  • Basic tools: socket set, adjustable wrench, Phillips and flat screwdrivers, and a rubber mallet.
  • For sheds: a level foundation, anchoring hardware for your surface type, a drill or driver, a spirit level and a step ladder.

Does Peaulon Assemble or Install?

No. Peaulon does not provide an assembly, installation or on-site setup service, and freight drivers do not unpack or assemble anything. Delivery is curbside, as described in the Freight Shipping Policy.

Every product ships with a printed manual and a hardware kit. If you would rather not do it yourself, a local handyman, small engine shop or shed installer can normally complete the work in a few hours. That cost is yours to arrange and pay, and we are happy to send you the assembly manual in advance so you can get an accurate quote before your order arrives.

Before You Start

  1. Check the parts list in the manual against the contents of the carton before you begin. Report any missing or damaged hardware within 30 days and we ship replacements free.
  2. Work on a flat, dry surface with space to lay parts out.
  3. Disconnect the spark plug wire before touching a blade, deck or belt.
  4. Do not add fuel until assembly is finished and all fasteners are tight.
  5. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and wear gloves and eye protection.

Storage Shed Foundation

A shed is only as good as what it stands on, and foundation problems cause more shed failures than any manufacturing defect. Your foundation must be:

  • Level to within half an inch across the full footprint. A shed built on an uneven base will have doors that jam and panels that will not line up.
  • At least the size of the shed base, and ideally a few inches larger on every side.
  • Built from a concrete slab, pressure-treated timber frame, or a compacted gravel pad at least 4 inches deep.
  • Anchored. Every shed must be fixed to its foundation with anchors suited to the surface. An unanchored shed can be lifted or moved in high wind, and wind damage to an unanchored shed is not covered by warranty.

Assemble on a dry day with little wind. Large panels behave like sails, and two people should handle every wall section.

First Use Checklist

  • Mowers: fill with oil to the mark on the dipstick, add fuel, check tyre pressures, confirm blade bolts are torqued to spec, and test every safety interlock before mowing.
  • Ride-on mowers: charge and connect the battery, check the deck is level side to side, confirm the seat safety switch stops the engine when you stand up, and run the engine at low load for the break-in period in the manual before mowing tall grass.
  • Pressure washers: connect the water supply and run water through the pump before starting the engine, never run the pump dry, and confirm the inlet supplies at least the rated GPM.
  • Sheds: check that doors open and close freely, that the roof panels overlap correctly, and that all anchors are tight.

Assembly and Your Warranty

Damage caused by incorrect assembly is not covered by the Warranty & Replacement policy. That includes an engine started without oil, a blade fitted upside down, a belt routed incorrectly, a shed built on an uneven or unanchored base, and fasteners over-torqued to the point of stripping. If you are unsure about a step, stop and contact us on live chat before continuing. A five-minute question costs nothing and a wrong step can cost a warranty claim.
